Blayke Phillips Sets High Jump Record
Blayke was not satisfied last week breaking the Howell 7th grade record of 5'4" with a jump of 5'6" in Cuero. So, he resumed his pursuit of putting the record out of touch for everyone when he arrived in Port Lavaca for a District warm-up meet. With a crowd gathering around the high jump pit to see what all the fuss was about, Blayke stood alone after all others have dropped out. The crowd reached at least 100 to watch Blayke go after his own record. He did not disappoint them. After matching his record jump of 5'6", he was now poised to "raise the bar". We raised the bar to 5'8" to see what can happen. On his first two attempts, he could not get over the bar. When he could of given up and walked away happy, he chose not to. Blayke sized up the jump and nailed it on his last attempt. The crowd went wild. He jumped 5'8". That is taller than a great majority of students, and a few teachers.
Please congratulate Blayke when you see him. He has been working hard and all his hard work is paying off. We end our track season on March 25th and 26th. He is working for a jump of 5'10".

Visitors to the Campus
Visitors to the Campus
The safety of our students is one of our primary concerns.
If you plan to visit our campus, please check in at the front office.
If you wish to actually enter the school beyond the front office in order to attend a Parent/Teacher conference, have lunch with your child, etc., it is important that you bring a driver's license or an official State photo I.D. when you check in.
All visitors, including parents, maintenance engineers, teachers from other schools, counselors, diagnosticians, etc. must get a Visitor's Pass from the front office.
In order to check a student out from school during school hours, you are required to be a legal guardian of the child or to have been pre-approved for this by the legal guardian. You will also need to provide a driver's license or an official State photo I.D.
Thank you for understanding our need for a safe and secure school.
